This must have been the longest streak without posting yet. It has been nearly two months. A lot has happened here in Iraq but OPSEC rules the roost so I can’t talk about any of it. I will say that the weather is getting cooler, a lot cooler. The highs have only been in the mid to upper 90’s. Between the weather and the fact that home is within sight, everybody is in a chipper mood.

Now, I just wish you all didn’t ruin the economy while we were gone!

Well, welcome back to the blog!!

And the economy will be here for you to fix when you arrive home.

We’re moving into fall weather patterns and of course it’s getting darker earlier everyday. We’re going fossil hunting this weekend and we went into a hundred year old mine last weekend. Wendy confirmed her claustrophobia about 900 feet into the mine. But she ended up using the sledge hammer and chisels before we finished. (She REALLY wants the ‘fools gold’ we found to be the real stuff). The following weekend we’ll be hunting agate and jasper unless it gets really cold.

The yard looks pretty rugged now as we’ve had a lot of wind the past couple of days and it’s getting cooler here as well. Lot’s of raspberries still ripening daily on the vines though.

Looking forward to seeing your mug,
    Dad & Wendy

Thanks Dad. Rose, Angelica and I will have to tag along with you one of these days. It’s good to hear things are well.
